Introducing the Only Behavioral Health Program for Colorado Educators With 1-Year Access to Meet CDE Relicensure Requirements
We make it easy for busy Colorado educators looking to get relicensed and expand their knowledge. We offer the only program that Colorado educators can fulfill their relicensure requirement and access program materials for one full year from the date of the program.
Colorado Behavioral Health Relicensure Requirements for Educators
Did you know? Colorado educators are required to complete 10 hours of behavioral health professional development as part of relicensure.
These requirements ensure educators receive training in behavioral health, trauma-informed practices, and laws related to supporting students with disabilities. Requirements apply to all educators holding any type of educational license (teachers, special services providers, administrators).
The Requirements
The Colorado Department of Education has outlined the following requirements for relicensure:
- Requirement A: 10 hours of behavioral health professional development
- Requirement B: At least 1 hour must focus on culturally responsive, trauma- and evidence-informed behavioral health
- Requirement C: At least 1 hour must increase awareness of laws and practices related to educating students with disabilities, including Child Find and inclusive learning environments
How to Meet the Requirements through SEI
SEI has three options designed to help Colorado educators meet these requirements. One option fulfills all three requirements. If you have already completed some behavioral health hours, two additional options allow you to meet specific remaining requirements.
