Welcome to the One Foot in Education Course! Please take a moment and introduce yourself and tell us what you hope to get out of the class.
Hi everyone! I’m Lisa from QLD Australia and I’m excited to be here evolving with you all! I’m here as an Integrative Family Well-being Practitioner, working externally with schools to support the wellbeing of my clients within the school environment using epigenetic science. I’m also an unschooling Mum to two autistic children, 10 & 12. My intentions for being here are to learn how to be the person that not only my clients and families need me to be, but also the teachers and school leadership team need me to be… to build better rapport, trust and engagement with educators in order to create the space for them to be able to consider another perspective for managing behaviours in the classroom, putting the nervous system at the heart of teaching and relationships. Love & light xx
Hi everyone I am Lynsey Henry and I work in elementary schools in Surrey, BC Canada. I also take children and teen clients part time (1 day a week) in my home office. I am excited to learn and apply the SPT strategies more in the school setting. I took the introduction course last year and really enjoyed applying my learning with clients. I want to also help educators apply techniques in their classrooms. I look forward to learning with you all!
Hi Lynsey! Really looking forward to learning alongside you!
Hello, I’m Chey Cochran and I work in Pullman, Washington as a school-based mental health therapist. I’m hoping to learn how to consult with educators in a way that makes sense for them. I often hear educators in our school saying, “This is a behavior management problem not a mental health issue” and that always makes me cringe inside. I’ve been able to apply so much of my SPT knowledge with students, caregivers and educators so I’m excited to take this even further. 🙂
Hello all, thanks so much for introducing yourselves. I can’t wait to get to know you better as our class evolves and we spend some time together in smaller groups. Lisa, I love your line, “putting the nervous system at the heart of teaching and relationships!”
Hello,
I am Tia Dvorak and I own a private practice in MN. I have been a SLMH provider in schools for about 7 years prior to moving to my own practice where I provide play therapy two days a week and offer consultation to teachers and parents as well. I want to offer more consultation to teachers in hopes to improve their experience and the overall environment in schools. I am excited to be here!Hey,
I am Ekta. Based in Nairobi, Kenya. I run a private play therapy practice specialising in Synergetic Play Therapy. I am enjoying watching the therapy scene shift in Kenya especially after COVID. I am a mum of two boys and I love to read. Excited to be here
