We are so happy that you’ll be joining us for “The Brains Behind Safety: Neuroscience Insights for Schools.” In this 2-hour class we’ll be exploring how safety and belonging start with the brain!
As school-based and clinical mental health professionals we know that creating a safe and welcoming environment is essential for students’ social-emotional, psychological, and cognitive well-being.
Yet, in our roles, we may have limited control over the environments in which students spend their days. During our 2 hours together you’ll learn how you can significantly impact students’ sense of security and belonging. We’ll explore how to share information with educators on how the brain perceives safety and threats, a foundational understanding that provides us and educators with a powerful tool for supporting students’ mental health.
Support schools in utilizing approaches that foster a sense of safety, nurture trust and belonging, and encourage students to face challenges with curiosity instead of fear. Empower educators and students in discovering that they can manage difficult situations, ultimately supporting their overall well-being.
