About SEI – Supporting Sustainable Learning Environments

The Synergetic Education Institute (SEI) works at the intersection of education and mental health to support sustainable learning environments for educators and students.

Through professional learning, coaching, and systems partnerships, SEI translates neuroscience into practical approaches that help educators respond effectively to real classroom challenges. Guided by a nervous system lens and grounded in alignment, sustainability, and applied science, SEI helps schools strengthen collaboration, reduce burnout, and expand what is possible for students and educators throughout the day.

This work focuses on shaping environments where regulation and connection support learning. When connection and regulation are woven into the fabric of a school’s design, educators can move beyond behavior management—toward deeper engagement, authentic learning, and lasting growth.

Our Approach

Three core elements shape how we understand challenges in schools and how we design support that can endure in real educational environments: Alignment, Sustainability, and Applied Science.

Identity, Philosophy & Tenets

SEI’s identity, philosophy and tenets articulate  how we understand learning, regulation, and connection real education settings, ensuring that every practice honors how brains, bodies, and people actually learn and develop.

Our Story

SEI grew from decades of work supporting educators and students in complex learning environments and exploring how neuroscience can inform practical strategies for schools.

Who We Are

SEI is a collaborative institute of experienced educators, school-based mental health professionals, and clinicians working to strengthen learning environments in sustainable ways.

Praise for Our Work

“SPT One Foot in Education helped me reach out to educators in a deeper, more meaningful way. Knowing this knowledge as a mental health professional is different from knowing it as an educator and through this training, I feel confident to translate the brain science and regulation information into applicable content for school staff. I have new tools and handouts to share, but more importantly, I have a deeper, embodied felt-sense of this knowledge, so that I can help educators feel it too.”
